Enright Construction
We provide radon testing and mitigation to homeowners and home buyers
throughout the Sierra, Owens Valley, and high desert from Truckee to
Tehachapi.   We also strive to educate homeowners about the dangers of
radon in their homes and assist many who choose to fix their own homes.
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that forms as radium decays
from granitic and volcanic rock.  Homes in the Sierra and the Owens Valley
often have high concentrations of radon due to the volcanic rock and granite
in the soils below most communities.

Radon causes lung cancer.  In fact, radon is the second leading cause of lung
cancer behind smoking, causing more deaths in the US every year than
breast cancer, drunk driving accidents or second hand smoke.  Read our
Radon Health Effects Page to find out more about radon and links to EPA and
State radon websites.
All homes should be tested for radon.  There is simply no other way to know
what the radon level is in a home.  Neighboring houses and buildings often
have dramatically different  radon levels due to building construction or soil
composition below a structure.
Radon mitigation systems can reduce radon levels in a home to concentrations
that approach outdoor air levels.  Fans draw the soils gases from below the
building and vent them above the house.  Indoor air quality increases as other
soil gases and moisture are also reduced.
